Here’s why Singapore Blockchain Week kick-started with a first-time conference UCIM

The United Conference of Internet Money (UCIM) successfully concluded its blockchain event on 27th November in Singapore. The conference held at the iconic Sentosa Island in Singapore witnessed over 350 attendees fulfilling its purpose to catalyze decentralization by bringing some of the most brilliant minds in the crypto-verse on the same platform.

Designed to empower members of the blockchain and crypto community, it was a conference where everyone evolved as one big team. With various networking opportunities, UCIM reinforced the spirit of decentralization by uniting startups, blockchain entrepreneurs and crypto-enthusiasts to connect with investors, thought leaders, and solution providers.

Keynote speakers at UCIM were ‘crypto legends’ like Tim Draper, Tone Vays, Mr. Backwards, Babu Munagala, and Igor Chugunov. The industry pioneers expressed their views on the far-reaching scope of cryptocurrencies and blockchain while discussing the impact of cryptocurrencies on human lives and the society at large.

Further, with over 50 speakers across 11 panels, the conference concluded with content and discussions that are capable of transforming non-believers of cryptocurrency to ardent followers. Zing Yang, Karen New, Sang Lee, Varun Chatterji, Alvin Chua are just some of the names behind this impact.

Among several networking opportunities that UCIM offered, Pitch-a-thon provided an unprecedented pitching opportunity. Startups and entrepreneurs got to share the details of their ideas with ten high-profile investors in a candid and intimate setup. The stage welcomed some extremely promising ventures with top industry investors including Michael Blakey, Karthik Iyer, and Nish Patel, Tushar Aggarwal.

The networking opportunities at the event enabled investors, thought leaders, as well as emerging startups and entrepreneurs to connect and build lasting relationships while paving the way for future leaders to embrace technological innovations.

The Golden Block Awards hosted by UCIM was another highlight of the conference, celebrating and recognizing outstanding ideas, businesses, and individuals. The awards spanned across 21 exhaustive categories and were a part of a grand gala dinner that let all the attendees unwind in the company of like-minded individuals.

What’s Next?

With a grand success, the United Conference of Internet Money is expected to grow in the upcoming year and has already announced its plans to hold its second edition in the next three months. “When we started working on the project, we wanted it to be a movement and not just a conference. With all that we achieved in just four months, we are now one step closer to this vision,” shared Bimlesh Anand, Project Manager at UCIM.

While the detailed information about the next conference is yet to be announced, it has created a buzz that people are excited to be a part of.
